"BCD has proven success in developing stable and prosperous incubators," said Tony Altfeld, City Manager at the City of Marina. "And Susan brings a wealth of established management expertise to the incubator. Her diverse background provides a fresh perspective that will help us re-focus the organization's direction."
About Marina, MBEST and the Incubator
The City of Marina is located on the scenic Monterey Bay coastline in California, and includes parts of the former U.S. Army Fort Ord. The Marina Small Business Incubator, co-located with the MBEST center, is a not-for-profit business accelerator in close proximity to the more than 30 technology and science and research and education institutions in the heart of the region's unparalleled, year-round agricultural markets. In addition to their nearly 500 acres of developable land, the MBEST Center, fosters collaboration with and alliances among business, government, education, research institutions and policy makers as a regional economic development initiative formed in response to the closing of Fort Ord. In this effort, the City of Marina and MBEST together provide a unique opportunity for entrepreneurs in the Monterey Bay region to find business assistance, start-up support, access to dynamic research and a great place to grow their business.
